We were given the assignment to design an ecology center in Chicago. When I first visited the site for this assignment, a small stretch of land off of North Avenue Beach, I was immediately struck by two things. First, the spectacular view of the skyline, and next by how underused the site was. It became the goal of my design to activate the space, and give people a space to enjoy the surroundings.
